"When Jean Power and Kate McKinnon started their exploration of beaded geometric shapes I was immediately enthralled.

I’m a mid-Century modern geek – can’t help it I’m a Baby Boomer! This workshop grew out of my love for all things geometric. This project is inspired by Kim Van Antwerp’s Pierced Arrow Pattern Dive. It differs in a few ways – I love to combine different shapes of beads to create texture and it has a hidden snap closure. Both techniques combine to create a cuff with the look of a bangle but with the flexibility of being able to be opened and closed to create a good fit.

And of course I had to add a bit of bling – some cupchain down the middle."

Students will learn:
• Geometric beading technique (peyote stitch) to create connected arrows with geometric patterns
• Add sculptural texture
• Attach cupchain
• Attach snap closure
